A LITTLE HISTORY...
After several years of dedicating much of our energy to collecting bicycle donations, in 2019 we decided to take a step forward: create our own bicycle and assemble it in Senegal. Together with Momabikes and Tannus , we made that step a reality and created the baobike , the bicycle for education. Thanks to it, students have a durable and long-lasting means of transportation, with reduced maintenance costs and closer to our goal. Specially designed for Senegal's road conditions so that students of all ages can ride them without any problems.
It is a simple and robust bicycle, with puncture-proof tires, a unisex frame, and no gears.
And to close the loop and make the project truly meaningful, we built the bicycle factory in Palmarin and trained local boys and girls to work assembling bicycles. This creates jobs in the area and increases the involvement of local communities in the project.
